Otaru is very famous for its historical canals that show their old time prosperity. They used to have a huge trading business and a fishing business. It is like Astoria, Oregon. Now it is well-known as a sightseeing place near Sapporo.
There are lots of classical warehouses along the canel. They all became restaurants to entertain visitors.
